Our Church History
How We Began...
Cedar Creek Bible Church started out as a small group of believers who sensed the need in the Lake area for a church that was committed to the teaching of God's Word. They began meeting together in the fall of 1987 in a home to study the Bible and encourage one another in their faith.
On Oct. 9, 1988, Cedar Creek Bible Church was formally organized and began holding regular meetings at Brawner Hall in Gun Barrel City. A year later, the decision was made to secure a piece of property and begin construction of a facility that could be used by God to reach the Cedar Creek Community with the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
Dedication of the initial facility at this site one mile north of Seven Points on Highway 274 was held on August 24, 1990. In December 1997 services began meeting in the present auditorium following the fourth and final construction phase of the planned Cedar Creek Bible Church facility.
Today...
Cedar Creek Bible Church is...
...an active and growing group of people who are committed to studying God's Word, applying it to their daily lives, and sharing God's gift of salvation with those who have not yet trusted Christ for their eternal salvation.
…a group of people who trust in Christ alone as their Savior and who meet together to worship God, to encourage each other in their faith, and to introduce others in their community and around the world to Jesus Christ.
…a group of people who believe the Bible is God’s Word, that Jesus Christ is God’s Son, that Christ died in place of sinners, that eternal life is given to those who trust in Christ alone for their salvation, that God raised Jesus from the dead, and that Jesus Christ will return to earth in glory.
…a group of people who believe that God has commissioned them to make a difference by making disciples
