Dear VBS Workers,

We are looking forward to a great year at VBS this summer during the dates of June 13 – 17. I wanted to write to you to give you an update on the direction we are headed.

The VBS Lessons this year focus on the Life of Jesus as seen through five of His “I AM” statements. Cindy Hinds will be heading up the lesson in the auditorium on Monday through Thursday and Bob Parry will teach the lesson on Friday.

The Theme for this year’s VBS is “Passport to the Holy Land”. We’ll use this theme in the lessons and decorations.

The plan this year is exactly as last year’s where the kids are divided by age groups into three classes but then they all rotate together. They will start, at 9:00 a.m., in their classrooms, go to the auditorium for Music led by Katrina, Memory Verse led by the teens, the Jesus “I AM” Lesson, and then end in Huddle Groups. From the auditorium they will all go as one group to the Fellowship Hall in the gym for Snack Time led by Susan Dillon. From there they will go to the Family Room (which is where the Adult Sunday School Class meets) for Truth in Action led by Karen Holmes and Kathy Stanley. They will then end their day back in their classrooms until time for dismissal at 12:00 noon.

The VBS T-Shirts are “Throwback Shirts!” In other words, like last year, we will not have new t-shirts but we are asking everyone to wear their old shirts from previous years. If you’ve got five shirts from previous years, then wear a different CCBC VBS t-shirt each day.

I am attaching two documents:

1. The 2022 VBS Schedule    For this click the link above
This document gives the schedule, the teachers, the location of their classrooms, the Five “I AM” Statements that we will be teaching, and the focus of each day’s Huddle Groups.

2. The 2022 VBS Roster  ( On this check with Pastor Ken or Bob for information )

This list is incomplete but shows who will be helping in each classroom and who will be working in the auditorium. The names on the list are those who have confirmed they can work VBS. If your name is not on the list but you would like to work in VBS, please know that we have plenty of spots to fill and would love to have you join us. Please contact me or Pastor Bob and we will assign you a place to work. Likewise, if your name is on the list but circumstances have arisen that prevents you from working that week, please let me know.

If you have any questions, please contact either myself or Bob.
And thank you for volunteering to work in this year’s VBS.
After VBS was canceled in 2020, and then canceled again in 2021 after only one day, we are all eager to have a week-long opportunity to share Jesus with the kids in our church and community.
